The Challenge
Agencia Presentes is a news agency covering sexual and gender diversity across Latin America. It publishes daily, organises its content into sections, campaigns and special coverage, and needed a site the editorial team could run on its own, that adapted to each new coverage and kept working as the outlet grew.
Our Solution
Since 2019 we have been the site's development team. We built the theme on a child theme of The7 and developed our own plugins for what the newsroom uses every day: campaigns, content grids, home-page highlights, recent tags and a tag cloud. We modelled custom content types to organise information beyond news articles. For special coverage we built dedicated microsites, such as Candidatxs —a survey of LGBT+ candidacies in the Argentina 2019 and Chile 2021 elections—, as well as specials on COVID and training. And we provide ongoing support so the site keeps pace with every stage of the outlet.
